Why your past is key to understanding the leader you are today
Shlomo Ben-Hur and Nik Kinley reveal how our default instincts, shaped by childhood experiences, can help us to understand our leadership styles....
From the journey of senior executives to issues of gender and data bias, each month, we’ll discuss one recently released book, and add a new one to the list, so you'll be able to plan ahead.
Our first four books were recent releases that had been very well received. Together they gave a sense of the books we would read: the first followed the journey of a senior executive in a given company and industry; the second book looked at issues of gender and data bias; and the third and fourth addressed important geopolitical and economic trends.
In 2024, we'll focus on the new drivers of competitive advantage in the digital era, while also dealing with new ways of using technology more effectively. We will also examine how organizations can maximize the talents of diverse minds and protects the wellbeing of everyone.
Gina Battye, author of The Authentic Organization, will appear in a live IMD Book Club webinar on 31 October at 12.00 midday CET.
IMD Professor of Leadership and Organizational Behavior Shlomo Ben-Hur was joined by Nik Kinley, co-author of Re-writing your Leadership Code, as they discussed the key learning takeaways from the book.
After we discuss a book, we will add one to the list, so that you can plan your reading for the next few months.
