Frequently asked questions

Do you offer remote work?

At IMD, we provide our employees with the flexibility they need to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Depending on the role you’re applying for, our generous Teleworking Policy can give you the chance to work up to three days from home (this applies to full-time employees only).

Do you offer flexible working hours?

As this depends on the needs of our clients, you should come to an agreement with your line manager to determine your work pattern. Employees will then be given the freedom and autonomy to be fully responsible for the management of their working time.

What are the main benefits of working at IMD?

Working at IMD offers you more than a competitive salary and compensation package. Our pioneering culture allows employees to reach their potential, and our working practices give you the flexibility and support you need to deliver your best work every day.

Here are some of the benefits that support this:

Teleworking

Our institute strives to support and nurture talent, whether that be on campus or in home working settings. We therefore offer teleworking as an option for employees who do not need to be on campus every day to perform their roles effectively.

For employees in full-time roles, this could mean up to three days of teleworking per week. Once an agreement has been made which is in line with the needs of IMD, you will be able to use the flexibility offered in our Teleworking Policy to complete your work during normal working hours.

Campus facilities

A healthy body develops a healthy mind. At IMD, we believe it’s important for all of our employees to maintain a healthy lifestyle to enhance both physical and mental health. We therefore provide team members with free access to our Fitness Centre, as well as an opportunity to take part in a number of sports and physical activities at preferential rates.

On the days you work on campus, you’ll also benefit from free midday meals and refreshments at our highly rated restaurant and cafeteria.

LinkedIn Learning

We encourage our employees to constantly learn and develop so they can bring the best of themselves to work every day. This means you’ll have unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning, which will enhance your skills with market-relevant learning experiences.

With more than 10,000 high-quality training courses on a huge variety of topics including business, creative skills, and technology, we believe LinkedIn Learning will support and enrich your professional and personal development throughout your stay with us.

How many vacation days do you provide?

Our team members are offered the following paid vacations per year:

  • From 20 to 40 years of age: 20 days
  • From 40 to 50 years of age: 22.5 days
  • 50 years plus: 25 days

Our campus is also closed between 25th December and 2nd January. This means employees receive these additional vacation days on top of their paid vacation quotas.

As Frontaliers, can we benefit from the work-from-home policy?

Frontaliers (people employed by IMD Lausanne and who live in a European country) must comply with the European Social Agreement treaty, which currently allows a maximum of 25% of their working time in their country of residence. IMD cannot be held responsible if an employee decides to breach this treaty. Any administrative and financial costs are entirely at the employee’s expense.
